Job Requirements
Seeking nurse practitioner with cardiology experience who would be responsible for the outpatient management of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. Key responsibilities include the following:
Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage common cardiac conditions such as:
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart failure
- Hypertension
- Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
- Hyperlipidemia
- Valvular heart disease
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory studies.
- Prescribe medications and adjust therapies according to evidence-based guidelines and state regulations.
- Provide patient and family education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Work Experience
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current RN and NP licensure.
- National certification as an Adult-Gerontology NP, Family NP, or Acute Care NP.
- Current DEA and prescriptive authority as required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Cardiology experience preferred.
