Play a vital role in shaping women's health outcomes within a premier academic health system where clinical excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care are at the forefront. As an Advanced Practice Provider in this ambulatory setting, you will deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care in partnership with a multidisciplinary OB-GYN team. This is a dynamic, high-volume practice where your clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability will directly contribute to patient experience and outcomes.

The Role

This is a fast-paced, team-oriented ambulatory position where you will manage a diverse panel of patients and build longitudinal relationships while delivering high-quality care. You will function as a key contributor within a large academic practice, balancing clinical care with care coordination and administrative responsibilities.

This role is well-suited for an experienced APP who is passionate about women's health, values teamwork, and is energized by a busy clinical environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient obstetric, gynecologic, and well-woman care in collaboration with OB-GYN physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Manage a structured weekly schedule consisting of eight patient-facing clinical sessions and two administrative sessions
  • Conduct preventive visits, address routine and complex gynecologic concerns, and support pregnancy-related care
  • Deliver patient education and counseling to support informed, individualized care across the lifespan
  • Coordinate care, manage patient communications and inbox responsibilities, and ensure accurate, timely documentation
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and fellow APPs in a large, high-volume academic practice environment

Advanced Practice Provider Scope of Practice:

Clinical

  • Provides expert evidence-based, top-of-scope care in their clinical practice
  • Acts as part of a specialty team, collaborating with other clinicians as appropriate
  • Provides health education to patients
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and thorough documentation
  • Ensures compliance with institutional and regulatory standards

Leadership

  • Supports development of best practices and protocols in specialty
  • Serves on committees and workgroups to enhance patient care
  • Provides education to learners in the clinical space
  • Mentors new team members

Administration

  • Contributes to clinical quality improvement work
  • Participates in professional governance through the APP Council
  • Attends team development meetings at local and departmental levels

Professional

  • Adheres to ASPIRE values in all professional interactions
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, certifications, and specialty training competencies
  • Participates in local, state, and national professional organizations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's Degree as an Advance Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or as an Advance Practice Provider - Physician Assistant
Experience: One to two years minimum experience as an Advanced Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of the UVA Medical Center, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and the appropriate certifying bodies. Must be enrolled with all payers through Delegated Credentialing and can participate in Medicaid and Medicare for billing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling/bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $124,845.00 - $178,089.60 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
