Working collaboratively with Cooper's team of podiatric surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary care team, the APN will help improve patient access by managing appropriate follow-up care, allowing physicians to focus on new patient evaluations and complex surgical care. The role is an important part of Cooper's commitment to expanding comprehensive foot and ankle services and enhancing continuity of care.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Evaluate and manage postoperative podiatry patients.
  2. Provide routine follow-up care for non-operative foot and ankle conditions.
  3. Perform wound assessments and ongoing wound management within scope of practice.
  4. Monitor healing progression and coordinate care with podiatric surgeons.
  5. Educate patients on postoperative care, wound care, diabetic foot care, and preventive strategies.
  6. Coordinate referrals and collaborate with vascular surgery, wound care, primary care, endocrinology, and other specialties as appropriate.
  7. Assist in developing comprehensive foot preservation and limb preservation initiatives.
