Job Description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas - Cardiology and Medicine Clinic, you will join CHI St Vincent Medical Group in Little Rock, providing essential support to our cardiology service line and contributing to excellent patient care and outcomes.

In your practice, you will provide essential support to our cardiology team, focusing on pre- and post-procedure patient care. This includes monitoring patient care post catheterization and angioplasty, assessing patient status, managing complications, and ensuring a smooth recovery. You will also be involved in discharge planning, coordinating discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up appointments.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled and compassionate Cardiology Nurse Practitioner committed to providing high quality comprehensive care within a community focused practice. In your role, you will:

  • Monitor patient care post catheterization and angioplasty, assessing patient status, managing complications, and ensuring a smooth recovery.
  • Coordinate discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by educating them about the process, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Monitor care plans, ensuring adherence to established protocols and collaborating with the cardiology team to adjust plans as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding their heart condition, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Assist with other cardiology-related tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner active or eligible license in the state of Arkansas
  • Acute care certification required
  • DEA license (or eligible to obtain)
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular disease.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible part-time schedule including travel to satellite clinics twice per month.
