Part-Time | 4-6 Hours per Week
Are you passionate about supporting women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and parenthood? Join SSTARBIRTH, a specialized residential substance use disorder treatment program dedicated to helping pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women build healthy, stable futures for themselves and their children.
We are seeking a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide psychiatric services and consultation to residents receiving treatment in our supportive, trauma-informed residential setting.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and diagnoses.
- Develop treatment recommendations and individualized care plans.
- Prescribe medications and provide ongoing medication management.
- Educate residents regarding mental health conditions, medications, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members to support resident care and recovery.
- Provide psychiatric consultation and treatment recommendations to clinical staff as needed.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing when clinically indicated.
- Maintain availability for medication-related questions and clinical consultation.
- Connect residents with community mental health resources and supports.
- Provide nursing support and consultation to our on-site childcare program.

Experience and Skills
What We're Looking For
- Licensed APRN or CNS in Rhode Island.
- Board Certification in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Experience working with individuals affected by mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Passion for working with pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women in recovery.
