Compensation: $80 - $85 per hour DOE

About the Job
The Pain Management Physician Assistant will work within a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide patient-centered pain management services. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, performing physical examinations, administering treatments (including office-based injections), managing pain therapies, monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate medical records, and coordinating follow-up care. The practitioner will contribute to developing individualized care plans, ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards, and participate in quality-improvement efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under physician supervision.
- Supports physician effectiveness by identifying short- and long-term patient care issues, providing relevant information, recommending options, and implementing directives.
- Provides high-quality pain management to patients and their families.
- Assesses patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of medical histories.
- Documents patient care by accurately charting in patient and departmental records.
- Ensures continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, anticipates changes in legislation, and advises management on necessary actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
- Supports the development of healthcare team staff through information sharing, educational opportunities, and experiential learning.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Pain Management or comparable clinical experience.
- Skilled in office-based injections (highly preferred).
- Active DEA registration with Schedule III authority, free of restrictions.
- Must have a current California Physician Assistant (PA-C) or NP license.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
