PA, Physician Assistant/ NP, Nurse Practitioner - Inpatient Cardiology Nights

Job Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Cardiology team in Longview, TX for night shift coverage. This role focuses on providing high-quality overnight care to hospitalized cardiology patients in collaboration with on-call cardiologists and hospital teams. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care or inpatient cardiology experience and be comfortable managing patients independently during night hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overnight coverage for inpatient cardiology service
• Perform patient assessments, admissions, and cross-cover as needed
• Manage acute cardiac conditions and respond to clinical changes
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including EKGs, labs, and imaging
• Collaborate with cardiologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and ICU teams
• Communicate effectively during handoffs and transitions of care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Acute care or inpatient cardiology experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently overnight
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
