Overview
• Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to join Hartford HealthCare's Women's Ambulatory Health Services office as a full-scope outpatient OB/GYN and Blue Back Square office as an Advanced Practice Provider with a focus on Menopause Care.
• This role provides comprehensive, full-scope outpatient OB/GYN care while offering the opportunity to further develop expertise in the rapidly expanding field of perimenopause and menopause management.
• Work with Menopause experts to provide consultation for evidence based high quality perimenopause and menopause care including hormone replacement therapy and non-hormonal options.
• Patients are referred from across the system for consultation and follow-up visits.
• Providers will work with leaders in the fields of Menopause and Ob/Gyn Education.
• Strong clinical reasoning and excellent communication skills are required. This role functions both independently and in collaboration with nurses, residents, and attending physicians. This position will report to the Medical Director and either Nurse Manager or Practice Manager at Women's Ambulatory Health.
Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
This is a full-scope outpatient OB/GYN position providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across the reproductive lifespan, with an additional focus on perimenopause, menopause, and midlife women's health.
• Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective care for women, and participates in the medical management of patients, to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness.
• Engages in independent decision-making regarding the health care of women across the lifespan and across the health care continuum.
• Practices within a health care system that allows medical consultation, collaborative management and referral health care of women, i.e. well woman, gynecology, obstetrics (antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum), and family planning.
• Midlife and Menopause Care, Hormone Replacement Therapy
• Annual gynecologic exams and health maintenance screening
• Contraceptive care and management
• Screening and treatment for STIs
• Gynecologic problem visits
• Perform gynecological procedures such as LARC device insertions
• Opportunity to teach trainees

Qualifications:

Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
o Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse-Midwifery Program Master's program. Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider required.
o Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
o Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC, or Certification by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)
o Labor and delivery experience required
o Specific experience in women's health specialty strongly preferred
o Menopause Certification is desirable but support for obtaining certification while working is offered.
