Nurse Practitioner, Radiology: General

Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking a patient-focused and collaborative Radiology APP (ACNP, FNP, PA) to join our growing Radiology team at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. This APP will work in partnership with radiologists, referring providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality patient care across interventional and diagnostic radiology services. The role combines direct patient management, procedural support, care coordination, education, and clinical follow-up in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations.
• Form relationships with other service lines and serve as a first-line contact for inpatients.
• Service as a clinical resource for inpatient consults, procedural planning, patient optimization, and post-procedural management to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
• Perform tunneled line removals, Thoracentesis, and Paracentesis.
• Evaluating patients in the outpatient IR clinic, developing treatment plans, providing patient education, managing follow-up care, and ensuring continuity across the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner Candidates
  • Master's of Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Indiana licensure or eligibility for Indiana licensure.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
  • Current BLS certification
• Physician Assistant Candidates
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Indiana licensure or eligibility for Indiana licensure.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred

• Prior experience in Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or a related procedural specialty.
• Experience performing procedures and managing complex patients in acute care settings.
• ACLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a physician-lead team.
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
