Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a collaborative oncology care team. The Advanced Practice Provider works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while improving continuity of care for oncology patients and their families across the care continuum.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for oncology patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as clinically appropriate.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and supportive care.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable state laws, clinical protocols, and collaborative practice agreements.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain complete medical records.
- Coordinate patient care across outpatient and other healthcare settings to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in patient education, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical best practices.
- Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Qualifications
Education:
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree preferred).
For Physician Assistant:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant license.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Authorization to prescribe medications in accordance with New York State Education Law and applicable state and federal regulations.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
- One to two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider or in an oncology Advanced Practice Provider role preferred.
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of oncology care principles and treatment protocols.
