Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a collaborative oncology care team. The Advanced Practice Provider works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while improving continuity of care for oncology patients and their families across the care continuum.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for oncology patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and supportive care.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable state laws, clinical protocols, and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain complete medical records.
  • Coordinate patient care across outpatient and other healthcare settings to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in patient education, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical best practices.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Qualifications
Education:

For Nurse Practitioner:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree preferred).

For Physician Assistant:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant license.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Authorization to prescribe medications in accordance with New York State Education Law and applicable state and federal regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
  • One to two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider or in an oncology Advanced Practice Provider role preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of oncology care principles and treatment protocols.
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
