GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As our Nurse Practitioner, you will be a clinical leader and a primary advocate for their health, dignity, and quality of life. Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
**The position requires a Wyoming State Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN) with prescriptive authority and Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy certification.
KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of medicine and/or nursing including pediatric, obstetrical, gynecological, surgical, and /or emergency outpatient medical care.
  • Knowledge of prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Public Health initiatives and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to the profession and governing regulations for an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
  • Skills in computer usage and use of electronic health records.
  • Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to maintain current provider cards in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Skills in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents, staff, families, guardians, and the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

As required by the Licensing Board
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the Wyoming Board of Nursing.
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, pull, push, etc. as would be expected to provide patient care and treatment in clinic and hospital settings.
  • Ability to work directly with residents who display aggressive and challenging behaviors.

NOTES:

  • FLSA: Exempt
  • This is an At-Will position.
  • The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
