Job Summary:

• A Mental Health Registered Nurse (MHRN) in Salem, focuses on providing nursing care to individuals with mental illnesses and other related conditions. Their responsibilities include developing care plans, administering treatments, evaluating patient responses, and ensuring a safe environment. Key aspects also involve medication management, patient and staff education, and potentially assisting with medical attention.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing care plans: This involves assessing patients' needs, setting goals, and creating individualized plans to promote their mental and physical well-being.
• Administering medications:
• MHRNs are responsible for ensuring patients receive the correct medications, dosages, and at the appropriate times.
• This includes monitoring for side effects and potential interactions.
• Providing therapeutic treatments:
• This may include various therapies, such as individual or group therapy, depending on the patient's needs and the facility.
• Evaluating patient responses to treatment:
• MHRNs regularly assess how patients are responding to treatment and adjust the care plan as needed.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment:
• This is crucial, especially in mental health settings, to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
• Patient and staff education:
• MHRNs educate patients about their conditions, medications, and treatment plans. They may also educate staff on best practices in mental health care.
• Assisting with medical attention:
• MHRNs may need to coordinate or provide additional medical care, depending on the patient's needs and the facility's protocols.

Required Documents:

• Active OR Registered Nurse License.
• Active BLS/CPR Certificate.
