This approximately 520-bed inpatient facility operates within a structured hospitalist nocturnist coverage model and maintains established clinical protocols and appropriate resources to support locum tenens clinicians. The facility is a designated trauma center; however, trauma surgery manages those patients directly, and the APP nocturnist role is limited to less acute inpatient medical cases in the Main Tower. State licensure is required at the time of assignment, and IMLC is not accepted at this facility.

About the Clinician's Workday

The Physician Associate will provide inpatient nocturnist crosscover on an on-site basis during 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on a 7-on/7-off schedule, managing a crosscover census of approximately 100 less acute patients in the Main Tower. Coverage does not include the Step Down Unit, Cardiac Surgery, or Oncology services, as those are managed by attending physicians. Admissions are typically not required; however, 1-2 simple admissions or consults may be requested on exceptionally busy days. No procedures are required, ICU rounding is not expected, and no call responsibilities are associated with this assignment. A minimum of 2 years of inpatient hospitalist experience is required, and state licensure must be active at the time of assignment.
