Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Family Practice Resident to provide comprehensive primary care to a panel of both established and new patients. The position involves conducting in-person and occasional telehealth visits, managing routine family medicine needs, and treating limited pediatric cases. The role also includes collaborating with an integrated healthcare team to deliver high-quality care. This is a full-time (36-40 hour/wk) position that will start as a 6 month contract, with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to a mixed panel of patients.
- Conduct approximately 10-15 patient consultations per day.
- Manage family medicine care including preventive care, chronic conditions, and acute illnesses.
- Treat limited pediatric acute-care cases and refer as necessary.
- Complete clinical documentation using Athenahealth within 72 hours post-visit.
- Collaborate with an integrated care team including medical assistants and health professionals.
- Prescribe medications using an on-site dispensary.
- Participate in low-volume telephone-only call coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in primary care or family medicine.
- Active, unrestricted license in Alaska.
- Active DEA registration.
- Proficiency with clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records.
- No open or pending malpractice matters considered; closed cases reviewed individually.
Skills
- Proficiency in Athenahealth and ambient AI documentation.
- Ability to handle preventive care, chronic conditions, and acute-care needs efficiently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills within an integrated clinical team.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work between two clinic locations within Anchorage.
- Willingness to participate in occasional Saturday and after-hours coverage.
