- Provide direct primary care across all age groups, including pediatric well-child exams, immunizations, and screenings.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results.
- Prescribe medications and therapies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and make referrals as needed.
- Educate students, families, and school staff on disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness.
- Promote health literacy and empower students to make informed healthcare decisions.
- Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Actively participate in assigned committees, meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, school/ health center policies, and public health guidelines.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and data reporting for program evaluation.
- Initiate meetings with school nurses and school administration to discuss ongoing needs, health programs, and updates, including referrals to the health center.
Scheule Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m., 10 months with two months off in the summer, July & August.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex health topics simply.
- Empathy: Creating trusting relationships with entire families over time.
- Critical Thinking: Assessing diverse and sometimes multiple health conditions in one patient.
- Adaptability: Transitioning smoothly between pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient care.
- Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prior clinical nursing experience in pediatrics or family practice. Experience in a school-based health center setting preferred. Bilingual proficiency preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Software/Hardware: Experience with Electronic Health Records
