  1. Provide direct primary care across all age groups, including pediatric well-child exams, immunizations, and screenings.
  2. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
  3. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results.
  4. Prescribe medications and therapies
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and make referrals as needed.
  6. Educate students, families, and school staff on disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness.
  7. Promote health literacy and empower students to make informed healthcare decisions.
  8. Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
  10. Actively participate in assigned committees, meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  11. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, school/ health center policies, and public health guidelines.
  12. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and data reporting for program evaluation.
  13. Initiate meetings with school nurses and school administration to discuss ongoing needs, health programs, and updates, including referrals to the health center.

Scheule Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m., 10 months with two months off in the summer, July & August.

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex health topics simply.
  • Empathy: Creating trusting relationships with entire families over time.
  • Critical Thinking: Assessing diverse and sometimes multiple health conditions in one patient.
  • Adaptability: Transitioning smoothly between pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient care.
  1. Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prior clinical nursing experience in pediatrics or family practice. Experience in a school-based health center setting preferred. Bilingual proficiency preferred.
  3. Certification/Licensure: Valid RN license in Massachusetts
  4. Software/Hardware: Experience with Electronic Health Records
