Southern Health Partners has been a leader in correctional healthcare for more than 30 years. We're seeking a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality medical care at the Cleveland County Jail. This flexible opportunity is ideal for an experienced provider looking to supplement their practice while making a meaningful difference in an underserved patient population.
What You'll Do

  • Conduct routine medical evaluations and address acute healthcare concerns
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients within your scope of practice
  • Provide chronic disease management and appropriate follow-up care
  • Review nursing assessments, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with facility protocols and state regulations
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to the onsite healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
  • Promote quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with correctional healthcare standards

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina license as a Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
  • Current DEA registration (if applicable to licensure)
  • Active BLS certification
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Correctional, emergency, family practice, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
