UConn Health/Waterbury Hospital is seeking an experienced APRN/NP or Physician Assistant to join our growing Cardiovascular Unit.

What You'll Do

• Manage inpatients on cardiac and cardiothoracic services under attending supervision
• Care for patients with myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, and post-operative open-heart procedures
• Manage patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support, including IABP and Impella
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Assess and interpret hemodynamics
• Participate in advanced procedures and first-assist opportunities
• Provide pre- and post-operative management
• Support safe patient transitions across the continuum of care
• Educate patients, families, and staff
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the broader interprofessional team

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut APRN/NP or PA license
• DEA and controlled substance registration
• Minimum 2 years of APP experience preferred
• Cardiovascular or cardiothoracic experience preferred
• First-assist experience/capabilities preferred
• Strong cardiovascular clinical expertise
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills
