Position Summary

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine at UBMD Pediatrics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP interested in pediatric subspecialty medicine, with opportunities to develop expertise in cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, home ventilation, sleep medicine, asthma, and other complex respiratory disorders.

Our APPs are integral members of the clinical team and work closely with pediatric pulmonologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and other pediatric specialists.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and manage children with acute and chronic pulmonary disorders in collaboration with pediatric pulmonologists.
• Participate in outpatient pulmonary and multidisciplinary specialty clinics.
• Provide inpatient pediatric pulmonary consultations and follow-up care during scheduled daytime hours.
• Participate in telehealth, patient education, and care-coordination activities.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and develop treatment plans within the APP's scope of practice.
• Educate and support children and families managing chronic respiratory conditions.

About the Division
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine combines clinical care, education, quality improvement, and research to improve respiratory health for children throughout Western New York and the surrounding region. We want this position to be more than a clinical job. APPs are encouraged to develop an area of expertise and participate in the academic and programmatic mission of the Division.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current or eligible for New York State licensure.
• Appropriate national certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric clinical experience preferred.
• Pediatric pulmonary experience welcomed but not required.

Physical Demands

Driving Requirements
This position will never drive a university owned vehicle.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $115,000

Additional Salary Information
The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
