Our hospital client, a state of the art, progressive Magnet Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist or RN with a Masters degree for their Birthing Center. This CNS will join a team that cultivates staff empowerment and professional practice development. 

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for educational assessment, curriculum planning and design, competency evaluation and testing\outcomes measurement of RN staff. 

This position will focus on professional development initiatives primarily in the birth center, but will also participate in hospital-wide initiatives. This position will maintain clinical competency through provision of occasional direct patient care.

The successful candidate will have:

? A Master s degree in nursing, education or related field (or to be completed within 6 months)
? RN degree (eligible for Iowa license)
? Previous experience in a labor and delivery unit
? Experience in a clinical teaching capacity is a plus
? Qualified to teach Electronic Fetal monitoring or willingness to obtain certification
? High degree of interpersonal skills to deal with range of complicated problem situations 
? Excellent written and oral communication skills 

The work schedule is Monday through Friday. 72 hour pay period with one day off per two weeks.
