| Physician Assistant/Norfolk, VA 23507 - Join a program rated in US News and World Report among the country's best hospitals for cardiac care excellence for twelve consecutive years! Work in a new, state-of-the-art, 157-bed dedicated heart hospital. Immediate opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work with 7-physician group performing 2000+ cases per year. Cardiac cases include heart transplantation, VAD implantations, and minimally invasive cases. Thoracic cases include thoracotomies as well as VATS procedures. Intraoperative responsibilities include first assisting, endoscopic vein harvesting, median sternotomy and sternotomy closure. Postoperative responsibilities include acute ICU management, performing invasive procedures such as central venous access, swan ganz insertions, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and IABP removal. Would consider candidates for ICU or OR only responsibilities. Must be nationally certified, licensed in Virginia and have at least 2 years experience. Practice is located in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area of Virginia which offers beautiful beach surroundings and is with driving distance of the historic Williamsburg area and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
