In this primary care role, the Nurse Practitioner may be assigned to one of five clinical disciplines: Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics, Surgery and medicine. These incumbents work directly with a physician in the management of patient caseloads in family ambulatory care clinics, walk in clinics, and various hospital services such a Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Surgery, Medicine, and Obstetrics. Incumbents perform medical tasks to assist in the evaluation and observation of patients presenting a variety of medical problems that may range from chronic diseases, acute illnesses, episodic disorders to health care maintenance.
A license to practice as a Registered Nurse and a certificate to practice as Nurse Practitioner issued by the State Board of Indiana Registered Nursing.
