The Nurse Practitioner in our Pediatric Telecommunications Department works collaboratively with a team of medical assistants and other advanced practice clinicians in a dynamic, collegial call center setting. S/he is responsible for triaging pediatric patient calls after hours at times when our clinical practices are closed. Telephone calls can range from routine to emergent and may require prescription writing and interaction with an on-call MD. The NP has access to comprehensive patient information via our fully-integrated EMR system, Epic. This role is not an entry level position; it requires experienced clinicians who can provide advice and reassurance for concerned parents calling during night-time hours.
Shift/hours will vary and include nights, weekends and some holidays, all of which offer shift premiums in addition to hourly compensation. We offer both full-time and part-time positions and a generous benefits package including a 401k, CEU funds and education time. The call center is accessible by MBTA and offers free on-site parking. This is a great position for night owls and those who need the flexibility that evening hours offer.
Requirements: The NP must have graduated from a master's level state and NLN approved NP program or completed a Pediatric Nursing Certification Board/American Nurses' Association Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification or Family Nurse Practitioner certified. You must also possess state licensure to practice in the expanded role. Two years of advanced practice pediatric experience is required, and ambulatory experience is strongly preferred. |
