Nurse Practitioner Cardiology

Status: Full Time
Positions allocable to this class are assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients. The Nurse Practitioner is assigned full time to this role and receives professional medical direction from physicians. Incumbents of this class proceed independently in the care and treatment of patients within the scope of practice defined and agreed to by medicine, nursing, and administration. An incumbent seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol. The Nurse Practitioner plans and implements and a physician reviews and confirms health care goals for patients. The Nurse Practitioner participates in the care of inpatient and outpatient clients in an interdependent role and provides specialized patient disease management in the form of a clinic (CHF, PVD) in the office if indicated. The Nurse Practitioner also manages specific disease processes for inpatients, initiating or altering treatment plan according to patient needs, preparing patient for discharge, performs stress testing and provides post- procedural follow-up care. This position will be taking Call Time.
A license to practice as Registered Nurse and a certificate to practice as Nurse Practitioner issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing. 5 years of professional nursing and Healthcare Provider CPR Certification. CNOR ? Certification in Perioperative Nursing, ACLS
