Mid Level Practitioner
The Physician Assistant (PA) and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP) are defined as an advanced practice clinician(s) licensed to practice under the supervision of a licensed physician. The mid-level practitioner (PA's/NP’s) may provide comprehensive primary care services, acute care services and extended care services for individuals, their families and communities. This care is provided within the PA/NP specialty area(s), settings, and scope of practice. The PA/NP may assume the roles of provider, clinical expert, educator, administrator, researcher, case manager and consultant. Licensure is held by the Board of Medicine and Board of Nursing. Mid Level Practitioners have prescriptive authority in the state of Virginia under a practice agreement with a supervising physician.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Successful completion of a nationally accredited Physician’s Assistant program and/or Nurse Practitioner program
Experience:
Prior experience in Cardiac Non Invasive Testing as a Mid-level Practitioner or other related specialty area as determined by the administrator and/or medical director of specialty area.
Licensure:
Maintains licensure in the state in which employed; Maintains prescriptive authority.
Other:
BLS and ACLS for health professionals required upon hire.
