Job Description:
Full Time 7-3/3-11/11-7 Morning/ Varies * JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Staff Anesthesiologist performs the following functions for patients of all ages: Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery. Monitors the patients physical reaction to the anesthetic, heart rate and blood pressure, and informs physician of any adverse condition. Administers emergency measures when complications arise. Assembles and checks the equipment, and prepares prescribes solutions for injections. Participates in quality assurance projects at department/section levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills and Physical Demands Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Current Certificate of Authority from Ohio Board of Nursing. Current Certification from Council on Certification of Nursing Anesthetists. Successful completion of an AANA accredited Anesthesia Program. Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time; the ability to lift and transport patients. Manual dexterity to perform physical assessments and sufficient to operate equipment relevant to the position. Visual acuity sufficient to assist in delicate surgical procedures. Ability to work under extreme pressure.
