Correctional Nursing provides a challenging and exciting world of opportunities for Nurses today. In Correctional Healthcare, Nurses are provided the opportunity to apply their "hands on" assessment and clinical nursing skills on a day-to-day basis.
In general, patients have a variety of medical problems partially due to a lack of proper healthcare. This allows Midlevels & Nurses to experience a wide range of diverse pathologies.
Correctional Healthcare is similar to working in an emergency room or clinic. Each day is challenging and rewarding in Correctional Healthcare. Nurses are involved in healthcare emergencies, physical health assessments, receiving screenings, medication distribution, nursing sick call, chronic care clinics, and assisting physician / physiatrist / dentist.
Assessment skills are critical. Remember, you may be the only trained healthcare provider the patients have encountered in a long time. As a trained healthcare professional you need to assess the patient's medical problems and provide treatment.
We are dedicated to our employees. We will provide the knowledge and training to administer premier healthcare in the correctional environment. Now is the time to join the exciting and challenging world of correctional healthcare. |
