We all need to feel that what we do makes a difference. True career satisfaction is more than liking the work you do; it's also a combination of the people you work with, where you work, and the whether the work feels meaningful. Because an increasing number of physicians, PAs, and NPs are working locum tenens jobs, our host Tim Rush invited David Baldridge, president of the CompHealth locum tenens division, to discuss locum tenens and address issues related to this employment alternative.

Tim Rush founded Healthcare Staffing Innovations (HSI) out of his passion for developing web-based solutions for staffing the healthcare industry. HSI is dedicated to innovative solutions to staff an industry where there is no room for error. HSI owns and operates the HealthJobsNationwide.com network, an innovative, comprehensive platform of seven robust, interactive career centers providing everything from career opportunities, news and articles, to salary trends and CME offerings. Prior to developing HSI in early 2004, Mr. Rush served as the vice president of corporate development at DDS Staffing Resources and Medical Staffing Resources. He established their advanced practice division and developed AdvancedPracticeJobs.com (the precursor to the entire HealthJobsNationwide.com network), a niche job board dedicated to the employment of advanced practice nurses, nurse managers and physician assistants. Mr. Rush holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, and completed the Georgia Tech Mid-Management Program at Dupree College of Management in April of 2000. He is currently an active member of the International Association of Employment Job Boards, a corporate member of Staffing Industry Analysts. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Personnel Services "Million Dollar Hall of Fame." Other honors and awards he has received while working in healthcare staffing include the Unsung Hero Award, the High Flyer Award, the Peak Performer Award, the Top Producer Award, the 300K Award and the 200K Award. Mr. Rush resides in Woodstock, Georgia, with his family.
As president of the CompHealth locum tenens division, David Baldridge oversees all aspects of operations for the division, which is responsible for placing physicians in 47 medical specialties in temporary positions in all 50 states. Mr. Baldridge has been with the CHG Healthcare Services family of companies since 1990. He began his tenure as a client representative with the CompHealth locum tenens division-eventually managing a large portion of the company's locum tenens physician recruitment and staffing operations. In January 2001, Baldridge left CompHealth operations to manage hiring and training at the corporate level and later became director of administrative services at CHG, and in 2004 returned to CompHealth as vice president of the locum tenens division. Before working in the healthcare staffing industry, Mr. Baldridge was an outside sales representative for Warner-Lambert/Parke Davis. Mr. Baldridge holds a BS in business administration from Oklahoma State University.
